I just came across this arti­cle which really gets into the heart of brand­ing.  An Overview of Brand­ing Strate­gies Writ­ten by Marc Sylvester not only affirms my brief expla­na­tion of brand­ing, Marc’s arti­cle digs deeper and explores the impor­tance of brand­ing, strate­gies to con­sider when plan­ning and build­ing your brand.  His arti­cle also brings up some inter­est­ing points regard­ing global brand­ing, after all, this is the World Wide Web.

My first thought when I read it was to share it here to add under­stand­ing to my pre­vi­ous arti­cle, Iden­tity Devel­op­ment — Part 1.  I par­tic­u­larly like the way Marc explains how brand­ing devel­op­ment is about build­ing loy­alty, repeat busi­ness based on expe­ri­ence and value, and not at all about mar­ket­ing.  Take a look and please let us know what you think!!!
