Diane SoucyBeing a visual per­son, I was always the one with a cam­era, cap­tur­ing nature, gath­er­ings, expres­sions and spe­cial moments. When dig­i­tal cam­eras became more acces­si­ble to con­sumers, I was hooked. When I learned that you could take pic­tures to the com­puter and be cre­ative, a whole new world opened up to me. I wanted to learn about the cre­ative pro­grams used with dig­i­tal images and that lead me to dig­i­tal graphic design.

I needed to know how to bring ideas to design. At this time I was fas­ci­nated by design and all the pos­si­bil­i­ties that soft­ware deliv­ered. Hav­ing young chil­dren, my options for edu­ca­tion were lim­ited and while I real­ize that there are lim­i­ta­tions to an online edu­ca­tion, I just had to go for it. In 2002, I decided to enroll in a degree pro­gram for Visual Com­mu­ni­ca­tions and Dig­i­tal Design. Thir­teen months and twenty courses later, I grad­u­ated, summa cum laude, from Amer­i­can Inter­con­ti­nen­tal Uni­ver­sity — Online and began work­ing free-lance jobs.

In 2005, I pur­chased my first dig­i­tal SLR cam­era. I wanted to offer clients pho­tog­ra­phy ser­vices spe­cific to their dynamic mar­ket­ing needs. My goal was and is to inte­grate pho­tog­ra­phy and graphic design skills for a per­son­al­ized approach to estab­lish­ing a visual iden­tity and then car­ry­ing it through to print and inter­net Mar­ket­ing Strate­gies for Busi­ness and Pro­fes­sion­als. I con­tinue to learn and grow as a pho­tog­ra­pher and designer and really love all the ways I can con­tribute to the suc­cess of busi­nesses. Beyond graphic design and pho­tog­ra­phy, I now work with clients to develop, carry out and keep up a strate­gic, pro­gres­sive print and inter­net mar­ket­ing plan cus­tom tai­lored to their busi­ness goals and budget.

There are so many times I see missed oppor­tu­ni­ties where busi­nesses make the finan­cial com­mit­ment to take part in a pro­mo­tion or place an adver­tise­ment in a local paper or event pro­gram with­out incor­po­rat­ing their com­pany logo or estab­lish­ing any kind of visual clue that tells read­ers, at a glance, they already know this busi­ness. I want to work with busi­nesses and increase their poten­tial to suc­ceed and grow by get­ting them con­nected, estab­lish­ing and gain­ing recog­ni­tion of their iden­tity, and help­ing them to grow their cus­tomer base and profits.
